Author Belinda Green's new book 'It's Me, Ernie' is an engaging children's story about a sweet puppy who finds his way to his forever home

Recent release "It's Me, Ernie: The Life and Adventures of a Rescue Dog Who Found His Forever Home" from Newman Springs Publishing author Belinda Green is a meaningful children's book that shares the journey of a dog who has a rough start in life but ultimately finds his way to a happy home.

Belinda Green, an avid reader, lover of animals, and first-time author who lives in Colorado, has completed her new book "It's Me, Ernie: The Life and Adventures of a Rescue Dog Who Found His Forever Home": a moving and uplifting children's book that tells the story of Ernie, a sweet puppy taken from the love and comfort of his mom and siblings to live with a family who is not ready or able to be dog owners.

After some long, lonely days locked in a cage where no one seems to hear his cries and with fear of the abusive man owner, Ernie is loaded up in a car and dropped off at the dog pound to live. He is put in a room he shares with another puppy named Butch who becomes his first friend.

Butch teaches Ernie about the pound, its workers, and the dogs who live there. Day after day, week after week, Ernie waits for the chance to go home with one of the humans walking by his room. One wonderful day, he is finally spotted by a nice lady human who rescues and adopts him. She becomes his very own human, and she takes him to live happily ever after in his forever home.

Author Belinda Green begins her charming story by introducing readers to her main character, Ernie, writing, "Hi, my name is Ernie—Ernie Einstein Green to be exact—and I'm a dog. I wasn't always named Ernie, but more about that later. I was born on November 11, 2008. When I was born, I already had three brothers and two sisters. Then my little sister was born after me. When I say little, I mean little. Everyone called her 'runt,' but I named her Polly. I loved Polly. We always stayed next to each other. I tried to protect Polly from our older and bigger brothers and sisters because they would move us out of their way and step all over us."

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Belinda Green's heartwarming tale highlights the impact that dog owners have on the lives of their animals.
