Watford, England - Athena Connection Ltd. CEO and Founder Jacqueline Rogers set out on a mission to Bangladesh to answer the need of women in poverty in support of Women of Action. (http://www.womenofaction.co.uk/)

Women of Action is an initiative of Food for the Hungry, with a growing UK network of sponsors, advocates and volunteers supporting women in Bangladesh. Its vision is "to see thousands of oppressed Bangladeshi women journey out of poverty and despair." The group helps disadvantaged women in Bangladesh to discover their potential, restore their dignity and transform their communities. Women Of Action currently has over 900 groups meeting across Bangladesh. They offer oppressed and overlooked women the life-changing opportunity to rise from poverty by teaching them basic skills and practical, lifesaving knowledge in order to become small business owners and influential community leaders.

Rogers, who established the Athena Network in 2005, wants to give back and support the charity, which is very much in line with Athena's aims to encourage women in business to inspire and support others for greater success.

In Bangladesh, Jacqueline, together with another Athena member, Charlene Hayden learned about the project, met the women and children and listened to their stories of struggle from poverty and oppression. Rogers and Hayden also spoke with the women who are now generating an income, sending their children to school, and successfully leading their communities out of poverty.

Rogers and Hayden have returned to the UK to invite others to support the cause of Women of Action and are now looking for individuals who would like to sponsor a group of women as well as raise awareness of the project.
