Asian Woman Assaulted in Los Angeles Caught on Video Surveillance

The Law Offices of Edward Y. Lee is seeking more information about a recent assault on an Asian woman in Los Angeles.

The assault occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, when a large Caucasian male allegedly punched 30-year-old Asian female Jennifer Chen, a visiting Canadian, in the mouth. The incident occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. in the parking lot of The Balcony on Beverwil in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Chen was seated in the driver's side of her vehicle waiting for her friend to pick up her son from school when the man allegedly approached the vehicle, uttered a racial slur, and proceeded to punch Ms. Chen. Present at the time were the man's two minor children who apparently attend the same school.

Despite his denial of the incident and claim that Ms. Chen was lying, video evidence clearly shows a man approach the parked vehicle, swiftly extend his hand through its window, and the immediate aftermath of Ms. Chen, bleeding from the lips, following the man from her car to the school where he took his children. The battery was reported to the West Los Angeles Police Department, and Ms. Chen is awaiting investigation.

Ms. Chen has undergone medical examinations and treatment since the date of the incident.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information or seeking more information is encouraged to contact Edward Y. Lee at (213) 380-5858 or ed@eyllaw.com.
