SAN ANTONIO ART MEETUP GROUP ANNOUNCES
THE "Unknown Worlds" ART SHOW AT HISTORIC CASA NAVARRO
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Casa Navarro State Historic Site is supporting local artists each month from the San Antonio Art Meetup Group and announce the Unknown Worlds Art Show and Sale to be held on Saturday, October 17 from 1pm to 3 p.m. Casa Navarro is located in the heart of downtown San Antonio at 228 S. Laredo St. San Antonio, TX 78207.
The San Antonio Art Meet-Up Holds Free Live Painting Events With a Theme. October's theme is "Unknown Worlds". The artists will showcase different forms of art such as paintings, photography, and even jewelry. About a dozen local San Antonio artists from the San Antonio Meetup Group will be painting and sketching live to a theme each month. Each live paint piece will be donated by the artists and will be available to the public for purchase via a silent auction. The museum will feature an artist who will hang for a month from the participating artists.
The San Antonio Art Meetup group helps up and coming artists with the tools they need to learn, show and sell their works. Several of our artists represented the group by painting live on 2 local TV stations. Please visit the San Antonio Art Meetup Group website: http://www.meetup.com/SA-Artists for more information.
Casa Navarro is one of 20 historic sites operated by the Texas Historical Commission. Located in heart of downtown San Antonio, the site tells the story of Jose Antonio Navarro with period furnishings and personal mementos in his original 1850s adobe and limestone home site. The site is open Tuesday-Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The museum will be open for self-guided tours and the admission fee will be waived during the event.
We invite you, your friends and family and join us for a fun-filled afternoon combining local San Antonio art and rich history under the shaded patio of Casa Navarro. To learn more about the site, visit us online at http://www.visitcasanavarro.com or contact us at (210) 226-4801.
