Artist Launches Kickstarter Campaign With Help From Her Kids

The campaign has 30 days to garner pledges towards a new company which transforms pictures into extraordinary artwork, and allows the artist to continue to work with her children.

A dedicated family with a strong history of successfully working together launches their next project on Kickstarter. The new company, Picéssence, creates unique artwork out of everyday pictures at a reasonable price. The campaign has a $5,000 goal which must be reached by December 1st to successfully launch the company.

Pledgers of the Kickstarter campaign will be the first to try out this new service, which involves sending a picture to Peg to apply her digital techniques and transform it into artwork.  The finished product will either be emailed to the pledger or sent off to be printed on high quality ready-to-display canvas.  Once the Kickstarter campaign reaches its 30 day term, orders can be placed on the new Picéssence website.

I'm excited to see how far we can get towards our Kickstarter goal. I have a tendency to downplay my abilities but my kids always believe in me which inspires me to try new things.

Peg Eiya, Artist

Mather and Ruby Wiswall launched the project for their mother, Peg Eiya, as a way to test the market and also inspire confidence in the artist.  From the project page Mather says, “She is an extremely talented and innovative artist and designer… however she is very modest and a bit timid when it comes to putting herself out there. So my sister and I decided to help her.”

Peg created the digital process of transforming ordinary pictures into the modern and unique look of Picéssence by accident, with no intention of creating a business out of it.  But her children continued to encourage her for the past year to refine the technique and take a risk.  She says, “I’m excited to see how far we can get towards our Kickstarter goal. I have a tendency to downplay my abilities but my kids always believe in me which inspires me to try new things.”  Peg has been an artist her entire life which makes Picéssence just the latest of her many creative endeavors.

The family’s previous venture together was the design and web marketing firm [G] Wis Concepts, based out of Philadelphia PA.  There, Peg was Senior Designer for her son Mather Wiswall who acted as President and Creative Director.  Ruby, a more organized mind among her creative family, acted as Manager of the firm. The group decided to concentrate on other endeavors in 2014 after six successful years, and being named Philadelphia’s 4th Best Web Design Firm in 2014 by 10 Best Design.  Prior to working with her family, Peg satisfied her creative urge by designing and selling artistic crafts of different mediums.
