Articulating Boom Crane Has Long Reach & Wide Track
Online, September 21, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The new self-propelled Reversible Boom Crane with wide track base, telescopic outriggers, and rotating mast adds a new profile to lifting technology. Its compact and agile design allows operation in crowded, previously inaccessible areas. This crane will go where no other crane could go before.
The new mobile and agile crane will articulate loads up to 20,000 pounds in any nook and cranny; it will lift and transport, load-unload or position the load in most awkward positions.
It is a completely self-sufficient, self-propelled walkie-type unit with 90° steering capability on each side. Its travel speed is variable from 0-4 mph and is operated by solid state controls for precise positioning of the load. The unit travels on roller bearing mounted polyurethane-coated wheels to protect floors.
The power supply is 24V (48V on heavy-duty units) battery powered. The lifting, telescopic boom action and mast rotation are hydraulically operated. The hydraulic system is equipped with a safety pressure relief valve to prevent overloading.
Controls for all functions are built into the drive handle for the operators' convenience and an optional pendant remote control push button is available so the operator can control the crane functions from the end of the boom where the load needs to be positioned or precisely aligned. In the control handle, there is an automatic dead-man brake that operates such that when the controls are released, the brake is automatically applied.
The capacities available are 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 6000, 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 pounds. Lift height is up to 170" with the boom extended.
A variety of lifting attachments are available such as hydraulic cable lift, lifting forks for lifting palletized loads, spreader bars, lifting grippers, drum lifting attachments and more.
This is a truly unique and innovative design of flexible and versatile material handling equipment that will help to increase performance and improve safety in an industrial environment.
