Arline Ketring Celebrates 100th Birthday at Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation
EASTLAND, Texas, April 5, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Arline Ketring celebrated her 100th birthday at Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation, where she is currently living.
Ketring was born on March 5, 1916, in Elyria, Ohio to Donald and Gladys Horine. Her siblings included 2 girls and 1 boy. She grew up in Richmond, Indiana until she married on December 8, 1934, then they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ketring worked as a dress shop sales person.

The couple had 4 children, and Arline enjoys all 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
She enjoys her time reading and doing puzzles at Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation.
"Turning 100 doesn't feel any different than when I turned 90. I feel good," said Ketring. According to Ketring, her greatest accomplishment was raising her four kids through the great depression. "The kids didn't even know that we were going through a depression. We worked hard to provide for them."
When asked what advice she has for younger generations, Ketring said, "Everyone should join the armed forces for discipline, honor and courage."
Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation hosted a birthday celebration on March 4, 2016. "We are honored that we got to celebrate this milestone with Arline. Friends, family, staff and residents enjoyed hotdogs, hamburgers and enjoy live music at the facility.
