Approyo Sets Sights on Secured, Inexpensive SAP Hana Cloud's
Online, January 21, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Setting their sights on North American SMEs, Approyo and SAP have entered into a continued partnership that will see Approyo continue to provide small and medium-size businesses in the region with SAP's Hana solution. The companies want to address what they see as the misplaced belief that SAP's cloud solutions are only suitable for larger enterprises.
The partnership will see Approyo roll out SAP's Hana product targeted primarily at SMEs, initially in North America through one of there multiple partnerships, as an OEM, a Reseller and as a Focus Program Partner. Approyo said the roll out would commence immediately as clients are already benefiting from the solution with OEM licenses up to 50% off list price in their cloud.
Approyo said the partnership will also see them work closely with the German software giant to add unique localisation capabilities to the cloud-based Hana solution.
"Approyo has been providing SAP Hana-based packaged solutions to a wide range of customers that are expanding their business presence globally," said Marcus Retrac, Vice President, Hana solutions development division, Approyo. "However, we also expect strong demand for solutions that are not easy for customers to implement for small to midsize businesses when they are seeking to expand into emerging markets."
"To tap into the growing business opportunities, Approyo will work closely with SAP to integrate its cloud business expertise and assets with SAP Hana," he added.
SAP AG's head of OEM sales, and chief operating officer, global ecosystem and channels Steven Birdsall said the collaboration with Approyo demonstrates their commitment to the Hana Solution, which has been called into question recently.
Multiple reports in October last year suggested SAP only had 2700 customers purchase Hana software because the product was failing to gain traction among the small and medium-sized businesses the solution was intended for.
Because Hana implementations are so new and tend to have so many integration points roll outs more often than not tend to be plagued by a slow , complexity and confusion according to research published by Tech Target.
Cloud-based Hana solutions can help relieve some of that complexity, an appealing pitch for companies that don't have the resources to manage traditional roll outs (like small businesses). But demand has also facilitated the rise of players targeting that segment directly like Oracle or Hadoop, which are increasingly challenging SAP's incumbency in the Big Data space.
