Apple's Siri Technology Will Soon Be Integrated Into Chevrolet Vehicles
Apple's Siri technology will soon be seamlessly integrated into Chevrolet vehicles, making it possible to access most features of the smartphone while keeping drivers safe.
Online, June 20, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Apple has recently stated that it is planning to release software to certain car manufacturers that will integrate the newest feature of the iPhone, Siri. Among the companies in partnership with Apple for this release is Chevrolet. This will allow drivers to access the Siri technology on their phone by simply pushing a button on their steering. With drivers able to access most features of their iPhones by simply speaking commands, driving will become a much simpler and more enjoyable experience. Drivers will be able to do many functions; all handled by the phone itself, including making calls, getting directions and dictating text messages. All users have to do is plug their iPhone in via USB cable and push the steering wheel mounted button when they want to access Siri. The software also disables the screen of the iPhone from lighting up, further eliminating distractions for the driver.
GM has already stated that the 2013 Chevy Spark and Sonic will be compatible with Siri when equipped with the Chevy MyLink infotainment system. No further plans have been released but with the recent popularity of the iPhone and Siri you can expect to see this feature available in a wide variety of Chevy vehicles.
