On the 25 October 2015 the Company announced that the solid-state battery pilot line had successfully completed its Factory Acceptance Test ('FAT').
Yesterday, Jacob Huyler, Ansai’s Director of Operations officially opened the pilot line which will produce its first prototypes of its solid state batteries in Beijing. The pilot line will now go through various Site Acceptance Tests ('SAT'), which are specifically designed to test and ensure the equipment reaches the desired deposition rates that are required for specified materials during solid-state battery production. The SAT is due to be concluded early in December, after which pre-production batches of solid-state batteries will be primed for evaluation by commercial partners.
Jacob Huyler, stated: "There has been substantial commercial interest in our pilot line and this looks likely to accelerate as we near the final stages of operational readiness. We are extremely excited about the prospects of announcing completion of the SAT which we fully expect to be above and beyond the required levels and look forward to the beginning of production of our unique solid-state batteries. We have some intriguing plans outlined for the deployment of our new technology which aims to address significant commercial markets throughout the world.”
The potential for these types of batteries can’t be underestimated, for example the market for electronically powered vehicles is expected to reach in the region of $32 billion by 2018.
