American College Of Radiology Designated Steinberg Diagnostic As An Imaging Center Of Excellence
Las Vegas, NV, September 17, 2014 (Newswire.com) - On Sept. 17, the American College of Radiology (ACR) awarded Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE).
DICOE is a very high achievement for radiology facilities throughout the US. The award recognizes the facility’s excellence through its staff, technology and patient care.
Dr. David Steinberg explained that it was a tremendous honor for the organization.
Other requirements to receive the DICOE include participating in the Dose Index Registry, General Radiology Improvement Database, Image Wisely and Image Gently. Steinberg Diagnostic is the only radiology facility in the state of Nevada to achieve the highest level of accreditation for both Image Wisely and Image Gently at a Level 3 Honor Roll.
The ACR was first founded in 1924 and has since grown to be one of the most influential medical associations in the nation. The organization is dedicated to promoted safe radiology techniques. Currently, there are over 36, members of the organization including radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, interventional radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians.
The ACR judges many different factors when determining a DICOE. It is the highest honor in the radiology industry. It is a measurement of the quality of care provided by the facility.
