Allegiance Title Company Launches First Annual Closing for the Cure Campaign

Allegiance Title Company puts its money where its heart is by launching their first annual Closing for the Cure campaign, which donates a portion of its revenue to the American Cancer Society for every purchase contract opened in June.

DALLAS, TX. June 7, 2010. Allegiance Title Company, with six branches located throughout North Texas, announces the launch of its Closing for the Cure campaign. The first annual drive will last through June with a portion of its revenue from the closing of each new purchase contract to be donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute, there were 194,280 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed and 40,610 deaths in 2009. Allegiance Title Company hopes to make a dent in the American Cancer Society's efforts to find a cure and provide essential programs and support to breast cancer patients and their families. All six Allegiance Title branches are participating in Closing for the Cure and the company expects to reach their $10,000 campaign goal.

The campaign is the brainchild of Allegiance Title's President and CEO, Dawn Moore, who lost her best friend, Debbie, to breast cancer. "It is rare today to meet someone whose life hasn't been affected in someway, or even devastated, by cancer," states Moore. For Moore, breast cancer brought an end to a friendship that began in her high school years.

"Debbie and I met in the marching band. The band was mostly made up of the high school nerds, but Debbie wasn't one of them. She made band cool," explains Moore. Though they drifted apart after graduation, the two reconnected years later and remained close until Debbie lost her 13-year battle with the disease.

Twelve years later, Moore stays in touch with Debbie's daughters. "I thought it was strange that young girls wanted to spend time with me-a woman their mother's age-until someone put it into perspective for me. I have a piece of their mother in me. And being with them brings a piece of their mother back to me," says Moore.

Though this is the first year for Allegiance Title's Closing for the Cure campaign in honor of Debbie and others like her, Moore hopes to make it an annual drive if customer response is positive. Title insurance rates in Texas are set and regulated by the Texas Department of Insurance. All title insurance companies must charge the same title insurance premiums regardless of location or where a customer closed a transaction before.

With pricing as a differentiator out of the equation, Allegiance Title sets itself apart from other title companies by delivering exceptional service. "The percentage of repeat and referral customers we have is a testament to our ability to do our job right and professionally. But we hope our Closing for the Cure campaign shows where our hearts are," states Moore.

The campaign ends June 30, 2010 and is applicable toward purchase contracts only, no refinancing. The contract must be opened in June and must close to be eligible.
