Annually rated as one of the Top 10 Charity Golf Events in Dallas-Fort Worth by the Dallas Business Journal, the 47th Annual Bright Realty Golf Classic presented by American Airlines Center will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas. All proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

This year's tournament will offer two tee times each for a classic four-man scramble - 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The event is for all skill levels with fun games throughout the day.

New for this year's event will be the opportunity for businesses or organizations to sponsor a hole on the course then "dress it up" however they like. "We're encouraging sponsors to get creative at their respective holes- cook and serve food, offer branded gifts, provide live demonstrations of products or services," says Chris Bright, CEO of Bright Realty. "We hope this unique spin will not only be fun for the golfers, but also for the sponsors."

A reception and dinner, as well as a silent and live auction will follow the tournament at The Lakes at Castle Hills Clubhouse. The evening event is open to golfers and their families as part of their tournament registration. To register a team or sponsor a hole, visit www.bbbstx.org/GOLF or call 817.905.GOLF.

All proceeds from the day's events will directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2013, the event raised more than $180,000 for the children of North Texas, helping to take 360 children off the waiting list and into caring mentor relationships. Currently, in Texas there are more than 4,500 children still on that wait list.

Sponsors for this year's golf tournament include Bright Realty, American Airlines Center, The Lakes at Castle Hills, NovaCopy, FastSigns, Rent-A-Center, Autobahn Motorcar Group, MDI Group, Coca-Cola, Alcatel-Lucent Foundation, Cash America, Care Providers Insurance Services, Grande Communication, Andres Construction Services, Dallas Digital Services, Maxim Management, VCC and Windstream. Additional sponsors In-N-Out Burger, Dippin' Dots and Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees & Smoothies will offer food and drinks to golfers throughout the day. Media sponsor The Ticket will broadcast live at the tournament.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation's largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring organization, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, such as educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships. Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children ("Littles") with screened volunteer mentors ("Bigs") and monitors and supports these one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course. The first-ever Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcomes Summary, released in 2012, substantiates that its mentoring programs have proven, positive academic, socio-emotional and behavioral outcomes for youth, areas linked to high school graduation, avoidance of juvenile delinquency and college or job readiness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. This mission has been the cornerstone of the organization's 85-year history. Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star serves over 30,000 children, volunteers and families through 20 offices and over 100 counties in Texas.
