Algoworks Celebrating the Grand Punjabi Festival: Lohri

Noida, India, January 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - This year Algoworks witnessed the grand  celebration of Lohri on 13th of January. Lohri is a magnificent Punjabi festival celebrated each year on the winter solstice marking the shortest day and the longest dark of the year. Algoworks had left no stones unturned to make it grand and majestic this year.

The HR Department have come up with the brilliant concept of the events like ‘Shutterworks’ and ‘Jashn-e-Bhangra’. While ‘Shutterworks’ took the photography ability test ‘Jashn-e-Bhangra’ took test of the dancing abilities of the employees.  Various teams were grouped up together resulting in four dynamic teams who had to tap their feet to the bold bhangra steps. The teams being Swaggers and Patolas, Bhangre da raja gidhian di rani, Shaan-e-Punjab and Wakhra Swag.

The Directors were the esteemed judges of the event.There was a surge of magnetic energy flowing through enticing the entire environment. The competition was followed by the lohri signature bonfire and a lot of music and dance creating a fun filled aura throughout.

This was followed by declaring the winners of the shutterworks and ‘jashne-e-bhangra’ where team Shaan-e-Punjab emerged as the undisputed winner of the event. The event ended on a happy note with sweet and snacks distribution. Not only the employees but people from all hierarchy levels and departments thoroughly enjoyed themselves tapping to the latest tunes of bhangra.
