Alaxo Airway Stents Appoints Dr. Ken Miller, DDS as Chief Dental Advisor

Alaxo is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ken Miller, DDS, as dental advisor and team collaborator.

Alaxo Airway Stents (Alaxo), providers of FDA-cleared and Health Canada-registered, internationally patented, innovative stent-based therapies to support healthy, natural, nasal breathing solutions to improve sleep, treat snoring and sleep apnea, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ken Miller, DDS, as dental advisor and team collaborator. Miller will lead strategic initiatives on the role of dental professionals to recognize the early signs of airway dysfunction that impede nasal breathing, restful sleep and quality of life.

"Dr. Miller brings years of experience and expertise in identifying issues that cause mouth-breathing, a behavior that prevents nasal breathing. Healthy nasal breathing filters, warms and humidifies inhaled air, protects the lungs and leads to better oxygen supply to the body for improved health and a better night's rest," says Robb Foote, Vice President of Alaxo. "We welcome Dr. Miller to our healthcare leadership team and look forward to his guidance in advancing our mission to bring Alaxo Airway Stents to more people in support of natural, nasal breathing to improve sleep, relieve snoring and sleep apnea, as well as to enhance athletic performance."

About Dr. Miller

Dr. Miller attended the University of Alberta and graduated with a B.Sc. in 1979 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1981. He is a member in good standing of the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Canadian Dental Association, the Edmonton & District Dental Society, and has been President of the Northeastern Alberta & District Dental Society from 1995 to 2020.  He has been a Cerec Doctors Mentor, is a Spear Faculty Club member & Study Club Leader and is on the Medical Advisory Board of a NeuroAccoustic Software Company. He is a lifelong learner and has a passion for CAD/CAM, CBCT, Implants and Sleep Dentistry.

Dr. Miller says, "When we don't get enough oxygen due to mouth breathing it dries the gums and mouth, causes a change in the natural bacteria and promotes gum disease and tooth decay. Alaxo's nasal stents open the airways to optimize nasal breathing and improve dental and overall health."

Alaxo stents also provide support for health issues that impact quality of life, such as allergies, acute and chronic rhinitis or sinusitis, as well as many autoimmune diseases. They can be worn for up to 18 hours a day on their own or in conjunction with CPAP machines and oral appliances.
