AISECT join hands with Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission to skill 4500 youths of Uttar Pradesh
Online, August 27, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The training programme will ensure an overall development of the youth through subjects like Information & Computer Technology (ICT), Retail, Insurance and Banking & Accounting.
UPSDM was established to carry out skill development initiatives in the state in a coordinated manner. It has envisioned training 23 lakhs candidates from 2014 to 2017. Therefore, it has empanelled AISECT, one of the pioneers in the field of skill development, to conduct this skill training for a period of 3 years wherein the organization has a first year target to train minimum 4500 candidates in 5 districts namely Hardoi, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Jalaun and Jhansi.
Commenting on this initiative, AISECT’s Director Mr. Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “We are witnessing a rapid expansion in the service sector of the state’s economy for which trained workforce is required in the retail trade and information technology. AISECT is concentrating on imparting the right type of trade-specific training to the jobless youth. Moreover, we have always taken into consideration the geographical scenario while choosing training location so that the scheme benefit pours down to the actual target beneficiary. Our aim to provide quality training has been a major reason for AISECT to focus on 5 districts and to take a target of training only 4500 candidates in the first year.” Depending on the results of the training and interest of the candidates to get trained from AISECT centre, the training targets will be revised after one year.
It is nearly three decades now that AISECT has been executing skill development initiatives in the unorganised sector through a massive network of over 12,000 centres spread across 27 States and 3 Union Territories. So far, the organization has trained nearly 16 lakh students, generated over 12,000 rural entrepreneurs and employed more than 50,000 people within the network. It’s partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to impart skills-based training toan additional 13 lakh people in semi-urban and rural India within a span of 10 years has been going strong owing to its incredible innovations to reach out to the masses.
The organization has also associated itself with various skill development and capacity building initiatives of the Central and State Governments. AISECT’s innovation in vocational education and skills training across rural and semi urban India has won them several prestigious awards and recognitions like World Education Summit Award, World HRD Best in Class Learning & Development Award, The Indian Innovation Award, TiELumis Partners Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, World HRD Best in Class Learning & Development Award, Best Practice Recognition Award by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Skoch Corporate Leadership Award as well as the National Award for Excellence in Training & Development.
