"I picked up a lot of basic knowledge about aviation and although I expected to learn, I did not anticipate I would gain this much in such a short period of time"

Select students from this group will now move on to Australia to commence full flight training at the Airways Aviation Pilot Training Academies in Queensland.
Foundation School theory instructor Jasvinder Singh Gill wished the graduates well and told them to keep up the good work. ‘I have high hopes that our graduates will achieve their dreams of becoming a pilot. There are different avenues in piloting, and students are not limited to flying for an airline. Students should never turn away from other options, like helicopter and cargo piloting. When I started flying, I didn't care where it was, I just wanted to fly something and fly somewhere!’
Seventeen year old graduate, Sathisan Gobu, impressed his fellow students and instructor when he passed all his exams on the first attempt. ‘I really enjoyed the course and it was very helpful for me. The exams were quite tough, but I managed to pass all of them by focusing in class and reading up on what I learnt. My instructor would also do a Q&A session with us at the start of each class, which was very beneficial and kept us alert and always thinking,’ said Sathisan, adding that he enjoyed the simulators the most; ‘they were much harder than playing videogames!’
Graduate Hong Khai Tzun, also 17, travelled from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur to attend the course, ‘I picked up a lot of basic knowledge about aviation and although I expected to learn, I did not anticipate I would gain this much in such a short period of time.’
The graduation ceremony was held at the Airways Aviation Foundation School in Bandar Menjalara, Kuala Lumpur.
