Inspired by the colors of the woods of Maine, the line features three of their most popular style handbags in rich, woodsy tones of chestnut brown, oxford gray and crimson. Styles include a hobo shoulder bag, a top zippered tote and a wristlet. One of the benefits of their bags is they include an inside zippered wall pocket, unlike most handmade handbags which usually have only slip pockets.
Also included in the line are plaid flannel blanket scarves, a new addition to their hugely successful scarf collection, as well as new colors in their hand knit rolled brim hats, a customer favorite. Lynn Bostrom, owner and designer, has been creating handmade handbags and accessories since 2011. She started After 23 after losing the job she had held for 23 years. With a long background in sewing it was the natural choice to use those skills to start her business. A recent passion for making handbags and accessories had brought many compliments and interest and provided the direction to take her new business.
She has developed a strong following, especially at the craft shows she attends, with customers eagerly awaiting her new releases and has come to be known for her eye catching fabric combinations and wide selection of infinity scarves. She works from her home in Gorham, ME where she lives with her husband of 38 years. Another passion of hers is tap dance, which she has been enjoying for over 20 years.
