Adzuna Launches Car Search Engine to Transform How You Find Your Next Motor
Online, April 4, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Adzuna (http://www.adzuna.co.uk), the next-generation classifieds search engine backed by Index Ventures, The Accelerator Group and Passion Capital, has announced the extension of its service into cars. The Car Search Engine, which launches today, aggregates almost every available used car in the UK and promises to match your personality to your perfect motor.
The new website, built by the team behind Gumtree.com, brings together over 250,000 used car ads from dozens of portals and niche car sites across Britain. In addition it adds fast, filtered search and wealth of useful statistics to help you pay the right price and personalise the car buying experience.
The real magic of Adzuna Cars sits within the Car Personality Quiz. The tool helps users find their perfect motor by answering a series of fun questions about themselves and logging in or connecting via Facebook. Adzuna's algorithm then analyses this data to create your "car personality" and match you to the motors best suited to you in your area, from Ford Fiestas in Farnham to Bugatti Veyrons in Belgravia. It's a completely new way to find your next car.
Andrew Hunter, Co-Founder of Adzuna, commented, "We're really excited about launching car search and we're particularly proud of the Car Personality Quiz. Being matched to your perfect car takes the pain out of the car search process. We believe the future of car search lies in personalisation, and our current algorithms are just the start of where this game-changing technology can go. Understanding where users come from, their historical search behaviour and the lifestyle they lead, gives us a head start on other search engines and allows us to provide the best results to the right users - as if by magic."
Since launch in July 2011, Adzuna has grown rapidly to half a million visitors per month. The company was named a Top 20 Startup of 2011 by Startups.co.uk, a finalist in the Website of the Year awards, and shortlisted for the Europas. The company has raised £800k in investment financing from Index Ventures, The Accelerator Group, Passion Capital and angel investors.
