March 28, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The Mid-Michigan ADDY® Awards recognized an infographic produced for Michigan State Medical Society by MessageMakers with a Silver Addy award for creative excellence.
As Michigan State Medical Society sought passage of the "Patients First Reform Package" (2012 Michigan Senate Bills 1115, 1117 and 1118), it wanted to visualize for its supporters and the general public just what was at stake. Thus, "The True Cost of Defensive Medicine" was born.
"Infographics are often a great way to convey a message in a condensed, easy-to-read and easily understood format," said Andy Doerr, senior graphic designer at MessageMakers. "My challenge in creating The True Cost of Defensive Medicine was to turn the statistics about legal costs weighing down Michigan's healthcare system into a graphic that would quickly communicate the problem."
