Additive Manufacturing Dazzled on Euromold 2014

Euromold2014 exhibition has gone through some many major changes with the tide of additive manufacturing gaining momentum.

This year’s Euromold exhibition has gone through some many major changes with the tide of additive manufacturing gaining momentum.

Two out of the eleven exhibition halls were used to host additive manufacturing(AM) services and products, technologies as well. More significantly, one of them (Hall #8) presented AM as the centerpiece of this year’s Euromold, demonstrating additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling and 3D printing technology. Major rapid prototyping enterprises from the globe convened. Innovations from the creative sector and the filed of application design were also displayed. A particular highlight was said to be the Euromold 3D School, offering students the chance to try their hands on 3D printing. A classroom integrated into Hall #11 were used to serve as a meeting point for students interested in lessons on the topic of 3D printing.

Besides displaying and lecturing, other activities related to additive manufacturing were also organized. Most conspicuously, the 16th Annual International Wohlers Conference, titled “The Truth Behind the Additive Manufacturing Supply Chain”, were concentrated on the supply of AM machines, materials, and services worldwide.

Despite the strong focus on AM, mold and tool making was still the largest industrial sector represented at the show. And the two sectors coordinate well. “A special exhibition entitled ‘Additive Manufacturing and Tooling’, demonstrated examples of profitable cooperation between additive manufacturing sector and mould making sector”, Demat, the organizer of Euromold said, “In a similar way, this will be clearly addressed in the theme park entitled “Strength in Mould Making with Additive Manufacturing”.

Euromold2014 had just closed its door when Euromold 2015 was announced to take place from 6 and 9 October 2015. Let’s look forward to more additive manufacturing presences.
