ABOUT THE PLAY

Catherine has just divorced Sebastian, but her spirits are more fervent than ever. She begins traveling through the United States in an RV sponsored by rum brand Monteverde. Along the way, she picks up strays — a wayward nun named Rosalie who has just gone through deep loss, another reporter names Lewis and a teenaged girl named Blake. Together they are trying to uncover journalistic stories in each of the fifty states. Looking for the new American identity.

In broad strokes, Grace… is largely a play about contemporary American culture and women within it. It deals with the search for selfhood in all its humor, humility, embarrassment, and struggle.

JustA Theater & Production Company   is committed to highlighting the work of bold, female and ethnically diverse artists in each of our productions, providing them with multi-dimensional, complex, intelligent characters to explore. We feel such roles for women and the ethnically diverse are still grossly under-represented in theatre and film. We are drawn to exciting new works that aim to eliminate this imbalance, and challenge other members of the artistic community to support and lift these daring new voices.

JustA also believes in utilizing nonrealistic, surreal and/or absurd elements as a method to raise storytelling past the ordinary objects and interactions of everyday life, in order to reach a new, more profound understanding of humanity and the world around us.
