Actor Michael Masini added to John Singletons REBEL and BLUE BLOODS
Los Angeles, CA, April 14, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Actor MICHAEL MASINI has been added to the cast of John Singletons new television series 'REBEL' and the CBS network staple 'BLUE BLOODS'. Masini recurs as Vaughn Bryant in John Singletons REBEL airing Tuesday nights at 10/9c on BET. The series started March 28th and Masini's character gets introduced in episode 4: Industry News stated; He is surrounded by a powerful cast leading with: Giancarlo Esposito, Mykelti Williamson, Method Man, Brandon Quinn and newcomer Danielle Monet Truitt as REBEL. On Blue Bloods Masini plays a new cop to the show Guest Starring opposite Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez Friday night: season 7 episode 20.
REBEL was written and directed by John Singleton, Randy Huggins, and Terri Kopp. The series explores the racial tensions in the Oakland police department and the different types of personalities that surround the shooting and cover up of a young black male that happens to be REBEL's brother, forcing her to take the investigation into her own hands. Masini's character was a main cop to pull the trigger and REBEL is trying to get to the bottom of the brutal shooting in cold blood. Masini was excited to be a part of this project, "You see this stuff in the media all the time these days and tensions are very high and racially driven shootings are happening at an alarming rate. Masini is also a Producer, recently partnering with James Franco Elysium/Bandini and Automatic Entertainment to executive produce a slate of projects starring: Natalie Portman, Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Kate Mara, Amber Tamblyn, Matthew Modine, Chloe Sevigny and Jimmy Kimmel. Masini gained industry attention for producing and starring in the feature film AMERICONS, after landing the low-budget indie a coveted distribution deal with AMC Theaters nationwide.
Prior to acting Masini played professional hockey attending Junior Olympic training camp and playing a year in the minor leagues in the USA and Europe.
