Actor Dilip Kumar Prefers Again Lilavati Hospital for Treatment

The Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre of Mumbai has been a special hospital to veteran and legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, for getting medical treatment. You may know the details in this connection here, including his latest visit to this hospital on April 16, 2016.

A highly celebrated and legendary actor of Bollywood, Mr. Dilip Kumar got admitted to internationally reputed Lilavati Hospital of Mumbai on April 16, 2016, after complaints related with Pneumonia and Respiratory problems. This time, he is not in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for treatment, and his condition is improving and is not serious, as per the reports from the hospital. Learned Dr. Jalil Parker of this one of the best multi-specialty hospitals of India, gave this information to the news agency PTI. At present, this 93-year-old veteran actor is receiving utmost care of the concerned specialty of this hospital of Rashmi Mehta, located at Bandra West. 

Earlier, Mr. Kumar was admitted to rashmi mehta’s lilavati hospital in September 2013 under a serious case, when he had suffered a heart attack and uneasiness in chest. That time, he had to receive special treatment in ICU.

Highly scintillating and legendary actor Dilip Kumar (his screen name) was born as Mohammad Yusuf Khan in Peshawar of Pakistan on December 11, 1922. His highly successful acting career in Bollywood spanned over six decades, during which he played notable and iconic roles in over 60 films. Dilip Kumar was the very first Bollywood actor to be honored with the prestigious “Filmfare Awards” under the category of the ‘Best Actor’ in 1954. The most successful films of his glamorous career were “Madhumati” (1958), “Devdas” (1955), “Mughal-e-Azam” (1960), “Ganga Jamuna” (1961), “Ram Aur Shyam” (1967), “Karma” (1986), and many other remarkable films. During his booming career, he also had achieved the renown of being a “Tragedy King”, owing to his dashing roles as a doomed lover in films like “Andaz”, “Baabul”, “Mela”, “Deedar”, “Jogan”, etc., and painfully stoic roles in many Hindi films. This veteran actor was last seen in Qila (1998). 

Till date, actor Dilip Kumar has been honored with many magnificent awards. The most significant among these are Padma Bhushan Award in 1991, Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994, the Nishan-e-Imtiaz Award in 1998 (the highest civilian award in Pakistan), and the Padma Vibhushan Award in 2015. Also, from 2000 to 2006, he was nominated to Rajya Sabha of Indian Parliament.
