3rd Annual Women and What We Love Event to Benefit Oxnard Youth

Event features live and silent auctions, premium wines, small plates and great company.

The community is invited to Women and What We Love, a fundraising event benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) and its programs, which serve over 9,200 youth in the community. The event features premium wines, gourmet small plates, desserts, live and silent auctions, goodie bags and live music, and will be held 5-8 p.m. on April 25 at The Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar, 3500 Harbor Blvd., Channel Islands Harbor, Oxnard.

“So many women are helping make this possible for the children who are most in need of support. We all love to have fun shopping, spending time with friends, and enjoying good wine and food. It’s a wonderful feeling to help our youth all while having a good time,” said Nancy Mayerson, event sponsor and organizer.

Live and silent auction items include wine baskets, gift certificates to local restaurants, beauty products, accessories and more.

Sponsorship opportunities are available with various benefits, which may include tickets to the event, brand recognition throughout event and in publicity, opportunities to introduce speakers or make opening remarks and to feature logoed items in the event goodie bags.

Tickets for Women and What We Love are $50 each or three for $120. To purchase tickets, visit www.womenandwhatwelove.eventbrite.com. All proceeds directly benefit BGCOP.

Last year, the second annual Women and What We Love event raised over $17,000 to help support the Boys & Girls Club’s numerous projects. Their programs promote music and the arts, character and leadership and technology as well as provide resources for children, teens and parents. This year, the Club hopes to match, if not exceed, that total in order to keep serving the community.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme exists to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club has served the youth of Oxnard and Port Hueneme for over 60 years. With three full-service clubs, 18 school program sites and one housing site, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in California, serving more than 9,200 members annually. It’s also the first Boys & Girls Club of its kind to open in the Juvenile Justice Center. Program areas offered to youth include character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, technology and sports/fitness/recreation opportunities.
