Guests will be treated to a decadent four-course meal and hear from a variety of passionate professionals who are sure to inspire. The event will be hosted by New York Times bestselling author Jane Velez-Mitchell, and guests will be invited to participate in a silent auction with proceeds going directly to Mercy for Animals and the Cardiac Wellness Program at Montefiore Medical Center.

She has poured hours into the planning of this event, in hopes it will “inspire people, get people excited about the difference we’re capable of making, and teach them something new.” She is the founder of PlantEmpowered, a vegan lifestyle website where she offers tips and suggestions for leading a plant-based life. She also offers coaching support services and event planning partnership opportunities.

The gala will feature a line-up of accomplished speakers such as Cody Carlson, formerly with Mercy for Animals and currently working with the Humane Society of the United States; Leanne Mai-Ly Hilgart, fashion designer and founder of Vaute Couture; Robert J. Ostfeld, MD of the Cardiac Wellness Program at Montefiore Medical Center; and Jasmin Singer of the popular vegan podcast Our Hen House. It will be a night of good food for a good cause. As Batuski puts it, this event is “one step towards the huge impact we can make” and she invites us all to transform the world together.
