New Perspectives Added to the OIC Moments Blog

With the help of two new contributors, the OIC Moments blog, from OIC Books, is rapidly emerging as a place to find and celebrate curiosity, imagination, discovery, and those "Oh, I see!" revelations, big and small, that happen all around us ever

The popular OIC Moments blog debuted two new contributing bloggers last week, offering new insights and perspectives to those of the blog's founder, Sheron Long. "Having multiple bloggers sharing their moments is an essential part of the OIC mission to embrace and celebrate different perspectives, points of view, and insights," says Sherry, "and our hope is that by creating a gathering place for these observations, any one person's OIC moment can become an insight for many others."

The first blogger to join Long in sharing OIC Moments was Janine Boylan, who debuted with a post titled "Life Lesson... in an Airport" that examined the changing interpersonal dynamics of a group of ordinary people waiting for a flight during a weather delay. She followed that with the post "New Perspectives on Beauty" that shared the work of urban exploration photographer Eric Holubow and pondered whether beauty could indeed be found in decay? With an avid sense of adventure and thirst for knowledge, readers can look forward to Boylan sharing even more observations and discoveries from her extensive travels.

The most recent addition to the list of OIC Moments bloggers is noted photographer and author Meredith Mullins, who introduced herself to the blog followers by introducing them to Paris street performer Robert Gheorghe in a post titled "Seeing the World Differently." Mullins, whose photographs have been exhibited internationally, promises to bring her eye for the moment, as well as her way with words, to the blog. "Life is about fleeting moments," says Mullins. "You must be ready, with eyes and heart open."

The OIC Moments blog is designed to collect and share insights and discoveries that range from the everyday to the truly spectacular. The blog is based on the idea that OIC (as in "Oh, I see!") moments are everywhere, and that we should seek them out everyday to help improve and enrich our lives. According to OIC, these daily insights can be plain and practical, helping you put a little problem in the past. Others might have the most unserious of consequences-the kind that just puts a smile of understanding on your face. Still others may be more profound, resulting in a U-turn as you see life in a new way. All of these discoveries lead to "OIC Moments" and will be highlighted in the blog. As summarized by OIC's founder and President Sheron Long, "Very few OIC Moments are epiphanies, but all lead to worthwhile insights in life."

According to Long, OIC's mission is to enrich people's lives through connections to positive, creative ideas and diverse cultures. "I value curiosity, imagination, innovation, and different perspectives," says Sherry, "because constant discovery-saying 'Oh, I see!' about something everyday-keeps the mind growing and the eyes seeing farther and farther into the world. Creating this blog was a natural extension of that philosophy, and hopefully it will become a place where people come regularly to seek and share inspiration." According to Long, who has authored the initial blog posts, interactivity also plays a big part in the OIC Moments blog. "We encourage readers to add their comments to the OIC moments featured in our blog posts and to participate in the interactive polls that will often be included," Sherry added, "and visitors to the blog can also use a general comment window in the sidebar to record and share any kind of OIC moment they experienced that day."
