New Android Game Raises Awareness of Endangered Moose
Moose numbers are in free-fall cross North America and Andy C Watson has launched a game for Android to draw attention to the plight.
Online, October 21, 2013 (Newswire.com) - One-man independent games studio, Jazzlebags Games, announces today the launch of a new game to raise awareness of the plight of the moose, Danger Moose Dash.
"Between 2012 and 2013 moose numbers have dropped by more than 35% across many areas of North America," says Andy C Watson, CEO of Jazzlebags Game Studios. "In some regions, more than one in every three living moose has died in the last year. Whatever is killing the moose population still remains a mystery and a million-dollar research project is underway to understand and act against the plight of the moose before it's too late.
"For me, the moose is a majestic animal, one that is often taken for granted. My original career background was in organic chemistry, so I also have an interest in the parasitical, disease and infection issues that could be behind the cause of the moose's decline.
"At the moment, it isn't clear what's impacting upon moose numbers - brain parasites? disease and infection? rising temperatures? forest maturation? deep snow winters? brown bear attacks? wolves feeding on impoverished moose herds. I've created a free game app for Android phones in which you play the part of Bruce Moose - if I can do my ever-so-little bit, then maybe we can save this beast.
"OK, so it's a bit of good fun, but I also want to spread the word that moose herds are seriously under threat, and this is the only way that I think I can make my mark."
Danger Moose Dash is a 150 mission endless runner, where you play Bruce Moose, captured by wolves and dragged into an underground lair full of sewers, animal testing areas and storage facilities.
Use gadgets at your disposal to run further, grab oil, regenerate and make your way out of danger.
