Michigan Senate Adopts Resolution to Support First Responder and Receiver Personal Preparedness

Senate Concurrent Resolution 29 moves to House for vote with 100% support by the Michigan Senate on September 23

HARRISON TWP. MI - A concurrent resolution to support first responder and first receiver personal preparedness planning priorities in state law and local policies was adopted with 100% support by the Michigan Senate on September 23. It moved to the House of Representatives on September 29 and was referred to the Military and Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security Committee.

Ann Coss, CEO of Personal Recovery Concepts, LLC, remarked on the anticipated approval by the House, "The lessons learned about the personal issues first responders and first receivers face when they are also victims of the disaster they are called upon to respond to and support are clear. Before they are police officers, firemen, emergency medical response teams, they are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, daughters and sons. Where their family's safety is at risk, their priorities and focus to respond to the call of duty becomes compromised. The fact that this resolution was so favorably supported and passed by the Senate acknowledges the value that must be placed on personal and family preparedness for all citizens, and especially those we call upon to support rescue and recovery efforts."
