Megan Gebhardt, a 12 year veteran of the flooring industry and a local Portland artist has joined the Design Team at Area Floors. Beginning her career as a consultant for Floor Factors she has also served as a furniture showroom vignette coordinator.

Megan Gebhardt is the newest member of the design team at Area Floors having hit the ground running in June of this year. This creative visionary brings twelve years of commercial and residential flooring experience with her along with her talent as a designer. "We needed an experienced flooring specialist to hit the ground running and Megan was the perfect addition to our design team." said Brandy Marsh, Area Floors owner.

Before specializing in flooring and countertops, Megan was a design consultant and vignette coordinator for several high-end furniture and home decor showrooms. She was naturally drawn towards home renovation and decoration because of her keen eye for aesthetics effortlessly creating visually stimulating combinations of clothing with accessories, furniture with curtains, marble tiles with grout and flooring with eclectic wall coverings. She has an innate ability to take something seen as nothing and make it something! It was as a vignette specialist that Megan was first able to utilize her ability to visualize and pull together different materials, colors, and styles that worked well together. Her unique sensory design combinations tantalized more than just ones visual senses. Megan's showrooms triggered a reaction of multiple senses evoking an emotional response.

Megan's transition to flooring and counter top expert began twelve years ago with Megan diving into the fast-paced environment of a commercial flooring store, Megan began shadowing experts that had been in flooring for years and attending product demonstrations presented by, among others, Shaw Carpet, Anderson Hardwood Flooring and Kentwood Floors. Following her initial training, Megan kicked her career into high-gear and immediately began working with customers quickly learning as much from them and their questions, as she ever could by memorizing product specs provided by the local vendors. In her spare time Megan read as much as she could on the different flooring options admitting that her personal interest in all aspects of design and decorating helped her to easily absorb all the facets of the flooring and counter top industry. This intense immersion into the flooring industry created an appreciation for quality products designed to be Eco-Friendly, renewable, cradle-to-cradle solutions.
