Online, September 16, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Antique Clock Auction Thursday, September 24, 2009, 12:00 Noon (cst) from the Estate of the late Mr. Doug Farley, Florence, AL. The auction is being conducted by Marold Pigg, Auctioneer and President, Advantage Auction & Realty, Inc, Killen, AL and will be held at the Underwood-Petersville Community Center, just North of Florence, AL. An appropriate location for Mr. Farley's Estate Auction since the clock tower standing above the community center was restored and donated by him. The clock once stood above the old Lauderdale County Courthouse in Florence, AL.
The auction consists of over 250 lots of fine antique wall clocks, mantle clocks, pocket watches, Grandfather clocks, skeleton clocks, company clocks and more, including: Sessions, Fashion, Seth Thomas, Ansonia, Elgin, Hamilton, Waltham, American, French, English, J. Unghans, Tambour, Waterbury, Ingraham, Gustav Becker, W.L. Gilbert, New Haven and more!
Mr. Doug Farley collected clocks and time pieces for the past 30 years. He was well loved and respected in our community and abroad. He was a long time member of the NWACC and was past President of the Huntsville Rocket Regulators #61. His private clock and time piece collection is very impressive.
Marold Pigg, the Auctioneer handling this Estate Auction enlisted the assistance and research of 3 clock appraisers and dealers to substantiate the accurate identification and estimated values of the items in the auction. "We want the collection to bring a fair market value, which is good for the family of the Estate and is also good for the Buyers," Mr. Pigg said.
