Governor Rick Scott has appointed Highlands County businessman and former Highlands County School Board Chair, Andy Tuck, to the State Board of Education.
"Andy has worked throughout his career to provide Florida students with the tools they need to succeed. I am proud to appoint Andy to the State Board of Education, and look forward to him continuing to make Florida the best state in the country to get an education," said Governor Rick Scott.

Tuck has over 22 years of experience in the citrus business and is the owner and manager of Natural AG Solutions, LLC. He also serves as the President of the 4-H Foundation, a member of the Partnership for Public Facilities and Infrastructure Act Guidelines Task Force, and a member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce.

"We are pleased the Governor has appointed a leader from one of Florida's rural communities," said Al Perry, Chair of Florida's Heartland REDI, Inc., a regional economic development organization representing rural communities in south central Florida. "Andy understands education is the key driver to a strong economy. The Governor has made an excellent choice."

In addition to his role as Chair of the Highlands County School Board, he served as an active leader in education as the Vice Chair of the Florida School Board Association - Small District Council and a member of the Florida School Boards Association, and South Florida State College Foundation.

"I am humbled and honored by the Governor's confidence in me to serve in such a critical role. I look forward to working with such a distinguished Board, leading the future of Florida's education system," said Andy Tuck.

Tuck's term began January 29, 2014 and is effective through December 31, 2017.
