Flynn Entertainment Picks Up UK Film Rights to Ian Lou's "A Place of One's Own"

London-based Flynn Entertainment has announced they are to pick up all UK rights to Ian Lou's "A Place of One's Own" for limited theatrical release in spring 2010.

"A Place of One's Own" set against the cold competitive landscape of Taipei City is a dark comedy, richly emotional and visually stunning from Writer/Director Ian Lou and Producer Singing Chen (Director of "God Man Dog"). The film stars Mo Tzu Yi ("The Most Distant Course") and Jack Kao ("Shinjuku Incident") as they respectively play a struggling rock musician and an origami artisan as both face the highly emotive issue of their defining their identity and relationship to the place they inhabit. As their lives unexpectedly collide each is forced to make decisions that will, literally, mean the difference between life and death for each other.

Steven Flynn said "this is really a wonderful acquisition for our young company. It's an excellent story, beautifully told, visually stunning and I am sure it will charm audiences over here in the UK as it has in Asia".

"A Place of One's Own" has already won the Audience Award, Best Supporting Actress and Best Production Design at the 2009 Taipei International Film Festival and has been invited to screen at the Chicago, Stockholm, Bratislava and Hawaii International Film Festivals in the coming months.
