First Ever Frame-Funded, Award-Nominated Film on Global Release as VOD and on DVD

The first ever entirely frame-funded feature film, The Hour of Living (nominated 'Best Feature' Basel Film Prize 2012), by writer/director Sebastian Michael is now available worldwide as Video on Demand (VOD) and on DVD through Distrify.

Crowdfunding has very much come of age in the last couple of years, with even big names like Spike Lee now using Kickstarter to get a film financed.

But one of the first crowdfunded films to be made, and in fact the first frame-funded feature film ever, The Hour of Living by writer/director and actor Sebastian Michael, is now available worldwide as Video on Demand (VOD) and on DVD.

The Hour of Living was financed entirely by people funding individual frames in the film before it was made. The film was then shot in October 2010 on locations in Switzerland, Cornwall, London and Budapest and completed in early 2012. Since then it has been shown at festivals in Italy, New York and Australia and been nominated 'Best Feature' at the Basel Film Prize 2012.

The Hour of Living has been described as "a positively gorgeous meditation on relationships, familial ties and the power of simple human connection" (Robert O'Neill, Philadelphia QFest).

It's about a young man, Theo (Sam Fordham), who goes in search for the secret love of his father. In one of the remotest Swiss Alpine valleys, he finds George (Sebastian Michael) and with him establishes a link to the past as well as paving a way for their respective futures.

The film is being distributed through Distrify, an innovative distribution platform, which seamlessly integrates with social networks and allows people to view and download the film directly from within an easily shared online player.

The Hour of Living is available for immediate online streaming, as download-to-own and on DVD at
