Dr. Yessis, Performance Training Pioneer Asks...Do You Know Good Pitching Form?

Dr. Yessis offers baseball form and technique trivia question with the answer available via doctoryessis.com on Monday, May 16th.

Dr. Michael Yessis has made a career analyzing technique, or form, for athletes in every sport at every level. In the example attached, he compares and analyzes two baseball pitchers for their pitching form...a major leaguer vs. a minor leaguer. One hint--the major league pitcher is a heavy weight lifter.

"I'm talking about speed...which pitcher's form will generate more force and mph? Plus, which pitcher's form will allow them to be more accurate or give them more control?" states Dr. Yessis.

"The real key to athletic performance is technique. Strength comes second. And specific strength at that. The strength that helps with the specific biomechanics of a person's sport is all important when it comes to performance on the field---in every sport" concluded Dr. Yessis.

During his fifty plus years of working with athletes, Dr. Yessis has successfully improved athletes in basketball, football, soccer, baseball, track and other sports. Most notable is the improvement in sports technique. He is considered this country's foremost expert on sports technique. In the Jan 2011 issue of Muscle & Fitness, Dr. Yessis is referred to as the legendary biomechanist.

Dr. Yessis has written 16 books in the sports and fitness field including "Build A Better Athlete" Dr. Yessis books and "Biomechanics & Kinesiology of Exercise, and written more than 2,000 articles on fitness and sports training that have appeared in magazines such as Muscle and Fitness, Shape, Scholastic Coach, Fitness Management, National Strength and Conditioning Association Journal and Track and Field Coaches Review.
