Bruel & Kjaer Goes Gold

Sound & vibration expert gold sponsor at Euronoise 2009 conference

Bruel & Kjaer is proud to be a Gold sponsor at this year's Euronoise 2009 conference, taking place in the Edinburgh International Conference centre.

Throughout the three day event (running from 26th to 28th October) visitors can meet the company's expert Technical Engineers, as they exhibit Bruel & Kjaer's latest sound and vibration equipment, including the world's first multi-field measuring microphone - the 4961 - a unique ¼" transducer with the same low noise floor as a ½" microphone.

Two new application tools will be on show: post-processing software tool, PULSE Reflex, which has been designed to make investigating acoustic and vibration measurements much easier. And the greatly enhanced Predictor™7810 environmental noise calculation software Version 7 - an intuitive tool created specifically for use with Bruel & Kjaer's 2250 and 2270 sound level meters. Predictor™ 7810 is the most efficient, multi-purpose Windows® software package available for noise mapping, management, action-planning and assessing the impact of urban noise.

Ever popular tools, such as the 2250 Handheld Analyser and Matron neighbour noise complaint monitoring system, will also be on display.

Euronoise 2009 will be opened by MSP Roseanna Cunningham, a member of the Scottish National Party, on 26th October, when the event takes place for the first time in Scotland. Under the theme, Action on Noise in Europe, the conference is organised by the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) on behalf of the European Acoustics Association.

The programme will consist of key-note lectures, invited and contributed papers in structured parallel sessions, workshops and poster presentations, including: "Reverse engineering - Improving noise prediction in industrial noise impact studies" Predrag Vukadin (Brodarski Institut d.o.o, Zagreb, Croatia, Hardy Stapelfeldt (Softnoise), Douglas Manvell (Bruel & Kjaer) and "SaaS, the future of urban environmental noise modelling" co-authored by Hardy Stapelfeldt (Softnoise).

Acoustic Application Specialist, Douglas Manvell, said: "We're looking forward to meeting new and familiar faces in October - and getting the chance to hear presentations by some major industry players. I am on the Euronoise 2009 International Advisory Network and co-chair the Noise Mapping session, where I will also present a paper on Good Practice in the Use of Noise Mapping Software."

He adds: "Bruel & Kjaer is also continuing it's 'green' focus, by using USB keys to distribute product information, instead of printing large batches of data sheets. With the USB keys and our electronic information centre, we'll be able to load relevant information to suit each visitor's requirements during the show."

To arrange a meeting with Bruel & Kjaer, please contact heather.wilkins@bksv.com or visit stand numbers 51 to 54.

Over the three days around 500 presentations and numerous lectures will be delivered on a wide range of noise subjects. For further details please see the IOA's website: www.ioa.org.uk

Bruel & Kjaer is continuing its campaign to go greener and will not be printing new literature material for Euronoise. To get the latest product data, catalogues, newsletters and press releases as downloadable PDFs, please contact: ukinfo@bksv.com
