SQUANKY KONG RELEASES NEW MUSIC SINGLE "REPETITION ARISING"

The new single "Repetition Arising" debuts a new lead vocalist and marks the first new music release from Squanky Kong in over 5 years. Said to be the first step in taking the band and music to the next level with non-traditional plans to approach development through investment and entrepreneurship like an early-stage business.

Today, the Los Angeles based rock band Squanky Kong has released a new single titled “Repetition Arising”, coming from the upcoming EP “Imminent Insurrection” which is due for release October 13th, 2015.

This is the first official release debuting the new frontman Joseph Michael and a more focused direction and sound of writer/producer James M. House's music. As with many studio releases, House is playing all the guitar and bass work on the studio work. The drums are being played by Lamar Little (Underhander).

"Record labels do not develop artists and bands like they once did, it's sink or swim. Meanwhile the market is vast and over-saturated, demanding the same kind of backing for proper development as always, if not more. There is luck, but realistically an artist has no choice but to take fate into their own hands and think business", says House.

James M. House, Producer-Artist/ Band Leader

Squanky Kong is described as Hybrid Rock with influences across a broad range of the Rock genre, infused with hints of Jazz, Funk, Classical, Blues, Reggae, EDM, and more. The new band line-up is led by James M. House whom is known for his virtuosic style while switching between guitar and six-string bass. The lead vocalist for the band is Joseph Michael (ex-White Wizzard, Midnight Reign). Meanwhile drums are covered by Lamar Little with Tarry McHailen switching on guitar and bass with House. This 4-piece line up is said to be just the start though, with existing plans to eventually expand the band.

House has been working hard producing the band and EP over the last year in Los Angeles on a shoe-string budget. All through his own small label and company Squank Entertainment. He plans to use his background in business to approach expanding the music of Squanky Kong differently than tradition. Part of those plans include starting a private investment campaign in the near future. However, he is first planning to look at options with partnering with labels and management, building up his team before bringing on further funding. The end goal is the hopes to put together a proper budget to engage the growing market and fan base, get the band out on the road, expand merchandise, and make it into the studio to focus on a new full-length album. In a music industry that is essentially turned upside down, House stresses the need to try different approaches to artist development.
