Sunshine Village Announces Spring Concert Lineup

Sunshine unveils lineup for five week live music series in the Rockies.

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort announced the lineup for its popular Spring Concert Series today, with Banff's Chronic kicking off the five week long outdoor music event.

The resort's Spring Concert Series, which will see six local bands entertain on-mountain guests, will take place every weekend from April 20th and 21th through May 18th and 19th.

This year's artists include returning favourites TR3, who bring their infectious dance music to the slopes and New Moon, to entertain with their reggae-influenced beats.

"Sunshine's Spring Concert Series is such a unique opportunity to indulge in Canada's best spring skiing while taking in an exciting musical lineup," begins Dave Riley, Chief Operating Officer, Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort. "This year's event will feature a wide variety of musical genres, providing entertainment for every guest."

The live shows can be enjoyed by anyone with a lift ticket or season's pass. Non-skiers may also purchase a gondola-only ticket to reach the concert area, located high in the Canadian Rockies.

Calgary-based The Steadies, recognized for their rocksteady and reggae influences, will cap off the annual musical event with Sunshine's world-famous 85th Slush Cup weekend.

Wide open until May 20th, the longest ski season in North America, Sunshine's Spring Concert Series includes:
April 19th and 20th - Chronic
April 27th and 28 - Tim Hus
May 4th and 5th - New Moon
May 11th - TR3
May 12th - Funk & Disorderly
May 18th and 19th - The Steadies

Boasting the longest non-glacial ski season in North America, Sunshine Village offers exceptional spring ski conditions through the end of May. With recent heavy snowfalls blanketing the mountain in March, the resort is positioned to provide guests with a tremendous ski and snowboard experience.

Sunshine Village, close to the town of Banff, provides skiers and boarders with 12-lifts including seven modern high speed quad chairs, the most in the Canadian Rockies, and one of the world's fastest 8 passenger gondolas. Stay slope-side in the Rockies only "ski-in ski-out" hotel and ski or ride 3,300 acres and three mountains in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia along the Continental Divide during Canada's longest season from November to late May.
