SASM.TV Is YouTube for Geeks

Scientists, Inventors, Artists, Designers, Entrepreneurs and Futurists now have their own eclectic YouTube portal to browse without all the noise

The SASM Institute announced today the launch of SASM.TV, a new online video portal focused specifically on content relating to science, art and social media.

"YouTube has literally billions of videos to view online but it has simply become too big for casual browsing. Because it is unfiltered user generated content 95% of videos are either not related to what you are interested in, corporate advertising or boring amateur rubbish with misleading titles", states SASM Institute co-founder Dr. Adam Weigold. "YouTube has got so enormous that browsing through a broad category has become too onerous for many. And searching on a specific subject can be like finding a needle in a haystack given that many people now post any trivial event online. For example, when searching for visual performance art you are much more likely to find amateur movie reviews, sunglasses adverts or a family video of a child's first day at kindergarten. So we decided that SASM.TV should act as a video portal and quality filter for people interested in topics based around the SASM theme. This way the task of finding useful video content is greatly speeded up and enhanced. SASM.TV blocks out the noise and makes the task of browsing for video enjoyable again. Our goal is to deliver video content that is either useful, educational, inspiring or really, really cool."

SASM.TV is a constantly growing library of screened and vetted video content from Vimeo, DailyMotion, Metacafe and YouTube. At the time of this announcement it connects to over 10,000 vetted video links across twelve categories including science, technology, art, design, futurism, transhumanism, science fiction, social media, crowdfunding, startups and innovation. SASM.tv is the place to explore the latest scientific breakthrough, learn about a technology, be inspired by cool art, be entertained by science fiction, be taught how to crowdfund or do a lean startup. Visit SASM.tv to start browsing video again.
