The Center for Independent Living in Central Florida Presents Its 5th Annual Stroll 'N' Roll Event

Center for Independent Living holds 5th annual disability awareness walk and fundraiser in Baldwin Park.

On Saturday, October 31st at Harbor Park on Lake Baldwin hundreds will gather for The Center for Independent Living’s (CIL) 5th Annual Stroll ‘n’ Roll. CIL’s Stroll ‘n’ Roll is an opportunity to promote and gain support for disability independence and active living throughout the community. It is a time of celebration of inclusion, acceptance, and fellowship.

Harbor Park on Lake Baldwin is the perfect place to hold this event. Baldwin Park is one of the only communities in Central Florida that is completely accessible for those with physical disabilities. At the event, participants have the opportunity to experience the 4k in a wheelchair if they would like.

CIL recognizes no two people living with disabilities have the same story. Each has unique needs — whether it’s a job, a safe place to live, a compassionate listener, or equipment making it easier to live an independent and active life in their community. We recognize the strengths within each individual and annually provide a place for each person to gather in fellowship to advocate for disability inclusion, independence, and active living.

In celebration of the event being on Halloween, this year we are encouraging participants to dress in costumes and will have a station where participants can decorate their own wheelchair or CIL will provide a wheelchair experience to able-body walkers.
