Ninth Annual Run with Dennis Set for November 9 at PNC Art Center
One of NJ's most outstanding running/walking events for the benefit of wounded warriors.
Holmdel, NJ, October 13, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Ninth Annual Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial 3.5-mile run and 2.0-mile walk is slated for Sunday, November 9, 2014 (rain or shine) at the PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ. Race registration begins at 7:45 AM, followed by an opening ceremony at 8:50 AM. The race begins at 10:00 AM.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Fifth Annual World Run, in which soldiers at bases around the world run to support the Fund as well. The World Run is also open to non-military runners who wish to participate. “We welcome all runners around the world to join us in honoring Dennis. All proceeds will benefit the Fund, which sponsors programs for injured soldiers and scholarships for students attending Christian Brother's Academy in Lincroft, NJ.

This past year, the Fund has provided financial assistance to The Fisher House, NJ Run for The Fallen, Waterford Township’s War Memorial, and the First Lt. Brian Brennan Stands Alone Foundation. The Fund also supported Sgt. Alonso, purchased a van and motorized wheelchair for a wounded marine, donated 4 hand-crank bicycles to wounded servicemen, and purchased books for Pemberton Township preschoolers of deployed military personnel.
The Fund also continued its efforts to support the K9 Sgt. Denny Project, which provides for the training of military service dogs for wounded warriors with PTSD in cooperation with K9s for Warriors and Canine Companions for Independence.
Moreover, the Fund paid shipping costs for 3,000 pounds of items to military working dogs and care packages for our troops in Afghanistan.

Cash donations, as well as in-kind sponsorships for items such as water, beverages, fruit, printing, banners, etc. are needed. Sponsorships must be received by October 31 for print recognition.

The Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial was created and founded in 2006 in order to honor Lt. Zilinski’s memory and spirit for life.
