New STAHKLUBB Single is Now Available

The new STAHRKLUBB single is now available. This released is noted as being the most accesible STAHRKLUBB release to date.

For several years in the backwoods of Wilmington, North Carolina STAHRKLUBB was unintentionally developing into what it is today. Pierre Alfonso, a Southern-California native, at the time was living very much outside of his realm. The life of STAHRKLUBB began nameless within a group of friends, and was afterwards left to rot for several years. Ultimately, Alfonso was the one to lay the project to rest, as he would be the one to repeatedly abandon hope in his diverse and inaccessible genre of music. These many abandoned projects would later surface as a set of records; the 1st STAHRKLUBB album, Rapist Fantasy/Soul Collector/God Killer, along with an EP jokingly titled The Greatest Hits. With the release of a new single, Bitches Know Me, STAHRKLUBB seems to be stepping out of the darkness and into the light.

Although primarily a guitarist, Alfonso would jokingly claim to be a keyboardist through online postings. At the formation of STAHRKLUBB Alfonso was experiencing some major emotional turmoil to the point that he “…felt so stressed out about trying to be this so-serious guitarist.” His only resolution to mend his situation would be to “...just begin joking and claim to be a keyboardist in ads.”

Late that year (2010) Alfonso formed the short-lived grind core band, Azucares, acting as the bassist. Azucares progressed very quickly and was featured as an opening act in many local festivals including the Thanx for Nothing Festival, as well as the now defunct Wilmington Exchange Festival.

During the time when Azucares was active, Alfonso would collaborate with friends in secret over a band which never seemed to progress. The original concept of the band would constantly center on themes of reggae music. It was during these years (2010-2011) that Alfonso would unintentionally write and record much of the first STAHRKLUBB album.

Many of the sessions would consist of someone ghostwriting lyrics and music, and Alfonso simply performing the music. As a result of romantic relationships being intertwined with the band, the group of friends disbanded.

Soon after, that same year (2011), Alfonso fell into a bad habit of binge drinking and carelessness. It was during this time that he “…began writing songs (alone) about hating god because people in the south are way too into god and the illusion of being a perfect Christian.”

In 2012, Alfonso ventured into New York City where he felt “…disgusted and bored with how American and English the east is.” He was there for a few hours before deciding to “...go to Montreal because supposedly it is very French.” Although his stay only lasted a week, he visited Toronto and Ottawa but immediately “…returned to Montreal for several days to be closer to the French.”

Alfonso would return to Montreal the following year (2013) with three months to record an album. The problem then lie in the fact that he felt like he “…was inside of a mansion the entire time and developed a lot of song ideas…opposed to actually recording them.” This same trek (summer 2013) would take Alfonso through Montreal, Hollywood, and even Mexico. As he claims, this is “… when STAHRKLUBB conquered North America...”

It was during this time that Alfonso established plans to release an album with Montrillion records (California).

In all, traveling only resulted in tons of new song concept ideas, lyrics, 3 new recordings, and 1

lost recording made while in Canada. Pierre returned to Wilmington to integrate his new song concepts/ideas into many old recordings.

The album Rapist Fantasy/Soul Collector/God Killer was eventually released in June 2014 along with a 5-track EP, jokingly titled The Greatest Hits, released later in the year.

In spite of the new single Bitches Know Me being “…just another track that’s been sitting around for three years…” the 24 year old artist feels confident in STAHRKLUBB being the key to combating a seemingly stagnant past. In addition to that, Alfonso feels it is the most accessible STAHRKLUBB music to date, “…considering the only curse word in the song is ‘bitches’…”. Bitches Know Me is now available and can be found at most any major online retailer.
