Ingerman Announces the Grand Opening of the Willows at Waretown

The Township of Ocean joined representatives from Ingerman and NJHMFA for the Grand Opening of The Willows at Waretown, a new affordable senior housing community in Ocean County, a region heavily impacted by Superstorm Sandy where demand for new housing is high.

The Township of Ocean joined representatives from Ingerman and NJHMFA on Wednesday, October 21st for the Grand Opening of The Willows at Waretown, a new affordable senior housing community in Waretown, New Jersey.

The Willows at Waretown is a newly-constructed housing community which offers 76 affordable residences for seniors, along with a community lounge, on-site management and maintenance offices, activity and fitness centers. This vibrant new community features spacious and energy-efficient one and two bedroom affordable rental residences for low to moderate income seniors 55 and older. Situated in desirable Ocean County, the community is adjacent to Waretown’s new Town Center Complex, is minutes from the jersey shore, and convenient to major highways including the Garden State Parkway.

"The destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy resulted in a large unmet demand for new affordable housing in Ocean County. With the completion of The Willows at Waretown we are now able to offer those impacted residents high-quality affordable rentals. Both the town and NJHMFA have been great partners in this endeavor and we are thrilled by the positive feedback we've received from the community."

"Low and moderate income senior citizens, as well as Sandy-impacted seniors in Ocean County, will now enjoy a choice of brand new one and two bedroom apartments that are affordably priced here at Willows at Waretown,” said DCA Commissioner Charles A. Richman, who also serves as Chairman of the HMFA.

Ingerman, a leading developer, manager and builder of multi-family apartment communities, partnered with New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA), the Township of Ocean, and Ocean County to develop The Willows at Waretown. Ocean County was one of the nine counties most impacted by Superstorm Sandy as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and as such, the NJHMFA, an affiliate of DCA, awarded the project approximately $6.7 million in Disaster Recovery funding through the Fund for Restoration of Multifamily Housing (FRM) along with capital financing. The Willows at Waretown will provide high quality housing in a great location along a major corridor in Ocean Township and will serve as a social and economic asset to Ocean County.
