Huntersville Dentist Creates Awareness of National Facial Protection Month

Dr. Tate Langton, and team are emphasizing the importance of protecting your face, head and smile.

Huntersville dentist, Dr. Tate Langton, and team are raising awareness in April for National Facial Protection Month. During this month, our dental office is emphasizing the importance of protecting your face, head and smile.

Our dental office is raising awareness for National Facial Protection Month in order to prevent face, mouth and head injuries. It is always important to take pre-cautions and protect your body, life and smile.

Spring is the most common time of the year for doctors to be flooded with patients who have suffered various types of trauma to their head, mouth and face. The patients that are seen the most for injury or trauma to the face, head or mouth are from accidents that occurred from playing a sport.

In order to help protect you and your child this spring while outdoors, be sure to follow these easy safety tips:

  • Wear a mouth guard for contact sports
  • When necessary, wear a helmet and/or protective eyewear
  • Wear a face shield to avoid bruising and scratches
  • Always make sure your child is aware of his or her surroundings

Unfortunately, many of these safety precautions are not followed when playing sports. Either certain equipment is not being provided or people are not realizing how important it is to be protected when playing sports.  It is important to make protective equipment a necessity for all professional and amateur athletes regardless of the type of sport that is being played. The sports that have created the highest amount of injuries within the last year include bicycling and basketball.

We encourage you to take control of your health and contact our dentist if you have any questions.  At our dental office, our caring and commitment to excellence shows in every aspect of our team and practice. In case of a dental emergency, please contact our dentist in Huntersville right away. We can help you achieve and maintain a healthy smile.
