Thakurdeo Rampersaud was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is a first generation immigrant born to parents who moved from Guyana to the United States in search of a better quality of life. The hardships that he faced growing up to first generation immigrant parents are what make him unique, according to Mr. Rampersaud himself. The hardships that he faced forced him to work even harder than his peers. This hard work shaped his personality and character. It taught him about perseverance and endurance, and what lays ahead of you if you are able to combine these key qualities.

Thakurdeo Rampersaud's hard work began paying off when he got into college. He attended City University of New York – Queens College from 1997 to 2001. While he was a student there, he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, whose membership is only bestowed upon the top 15% performing college sophomores, juniors, and seniors. In 2001, he graduated with honors from City University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.

In 2003, Thakurdeo Rampersaud gained employment as a Senior Accountant. His responsibilities included analyzing the impact of foreign currency translations. In 2005, he gained employment as a Senior Financial Analyst and was part of a team that successfully migrated the company's payroll system from Lawson Payroll to ADP Payroll. In 2007, he became an Account Manager with Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Inc., a role he still holds. He is responsible for a number of things including managing and developing a staff of four professionals.

While he was working full-time as a Senior Financial Analyst, Thakurdeo Rampersaud was also attending Stetson University to get his MBA. This again is another example of how his hard work and perseverance has paid off.

Now Thakurdeo Rampersaud would look to work with younger first generation immigrants and their parents so that he can share his experiences with them. He hopes to learn from them and teach them a valuable lesson about how unique they are as first generation immigrants.
