CHOKESLAM is a movie being made by Chaos A Film Company. Chokeslam is launching an Indiegogo campaign to invite fans to join cast and crew in experiential prizes. The film is also looking to raise an extra $50,000, and offers the chance to enjoy themed perks and events to fund post-production. With financing already in place for CHOKESLAM, funds raised through the campaign will be used to provide fans with unique CHOKESLAM experiences and events as well as enhance the film and its promotion. Fans are invited to participate in the movie-making experience and receive rewards through the Indiegogo campaign via the new igg.me/at/chokeslam page launching today.

The film is about a young thirty year old, COREY SWANSON, who, living in his mum's basement, has had the same job slicing meat in a tiny deli for over ten years. Getting shutdown ten years earlier, after proposing to his girlfriend, SHEENA, in front of students and faculty can make a person a little weary. But Sheena—now a world renowned wrestler, famous for her legendary temper –has flown into town for her and Corey’s high school reunion. Even though Sheena’s with a new man, TAB, a chiseled, smarmy manager from LA, Corey can’t help but become smitten all over again.

However at the wrestling event Corey's planned for Sheena's retirement with his good friend LUKE (a down-on-his-luck, former high school quarterback) a group of Japanese talent scouts offer Sheena a job in Tokyo. Corey feels like he’s been scissor-kicked in the stomach. The very event intended to rekindle Sheena’s love for wrestling (and hopefully her love for him), now threatens to take her away forever.

From Robert Cuffley, the Writer and Director:

“My co-writer on Chokeslam is JASON LONG, another wrestling aficionado. and local curmudgeon. Our time together goes way way back.... Both Jason and I wanted something waaay lighter in tone from our previous work. I was inspired by looking through a yearbook and staring at all the faces that I used to see way back. It was weirdly eerie for me. Still is. Some moved across the world, some have kids, some have divorced…some have died. Everyone’s path is at a crossroads after graduating. That’s what we started with, how two classmates, joined at the hip, are separated upon graduating. Oceans between them suddenly. And then came the odd couple element. Instead of the powerful wrestler character being a man, we knew right away it should be a woman. Flip things a bit. And instead of the conventional leading man, we thought about a taciturn, hermit type who lives in his mother’s basement. The minutiae of the plot has taken many different directions, but those elements--coming together after ten years away from high school, shy/timid boy man meets large and in charge female wrestler--has been there since the beginning. To me, CHOKESLAM is HAROLD AND MAUDE crashing its car into ROCKY 3."

CHOKESLAM is a film about bruising your knuckles as you club your way through the barriers of love. It’s also about the perils of dating a wrestler with a bad temper.
