In the face of a rapidly shifting talent recruiting process, Campus Philly’s My Philly Summer Party puts interns in Philadelphia on the cutting edge of the job search process by hosting the largest internship networking event in Philadelphia.

The My Philly Summer Party will take place on Tuesday, July 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Comcast Center, and will help interns build their professional network with each other and with some of the region’s top employers.

"We see the My Philly Summer Party as a win for everyone. The interns are able to tap into a network of both fellow interns and professionals, and we know that cultivating these networks is the most effective way to find a career opportunity in the current job market. And the professionals who attend are able to really connect in a one-on-one way with some of the city's best future talent."

Deborah Diamond, President, Campus Philly

"Comcast takes a very strategic view of recruiting talent. We want to start early, develop relationships with students, and connect college students not just with Comcast, but with the entire tech ecosystem in Philadelphia,” says Sam Schwartz, Chief Business Development Officer at Comcast Cable.

Through the My Philly Summer Program, now in its fifth year, Campus Philly presented a Philly 101 presentation to over 1100 interns at 37 companies throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, introducing them to all Philadelphia has to offer and inviting them to the biggest intern networking event of the summer: the My Philly Summer Party.

Companies participating include Comcast, Campbell Soup Company, Urban Outfitters, Beneficial Bank, and several startups.

“We see the My Philly Summer Party as a win for everyone. The interns are able to tap into a network of both fellow interns and professionals, and we know that cultivating these networks is the most effective way to find a career opportunity in the current job market. And the professionals who attend are able to really connect in a one-on-one way with some of the city’s best future talent,” says Deborah Diamond, President of Campus Philly.

“We know that 71% of students with an internship in Philadelphia over the summer stay in Philadelphia after they graduate, so this is the perfect time to make that invitation to stay explicit,” Diamond explains.

Students view the evening as a great asset in the search for their future careers.

“Attending the My Philly Summer Party helped me connect to both employers and fellow students in a unique way that sets itself apart from a lot of other events. My experiences with the My Philly Summer Party have definitely positioned me to take more natural steps towards a great career in finance,” says Jeremy Boco, an intern from Lincoln Financial Group.
