Air Ambulance International Evacuates 15-Month-Old Child From Alexandria, Louisiana to Houston

Suffering from a chronic pulmonary condition and breathing with a ventilator, this baby was airlifted from Bienville Medical Center to Texas Children's Hospital.

Air Ambulance International received a request from Bienville Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana this afternoon to immediately evacuate a 15-month-old child from Bienville Medical Center to Texas Children's Hospital. The child has a chronic pulmonary condition and is breathing with a ventilator.

"We have been receiving a high volume of calls from the hurricane afflicted regions but this is one of several missions. We anticipate doing several more flights in the immediate future", said Peter Veazey, Air Ambulance International's Operations Director and CEO.

Air Ambulance International launched an aeromedically equipped Lear 35A air ambulance staffed with a critical care flight nurse and critical care flight paramedic. The aircraft is scheduled to touch down in Alexandria at 5:28 pm CST and the flight time to Houston is expected to be three hours in duration. Both of the child's parents will be onboard the aircraft also. The initial mission plan anticipates arriving in Houston at 7:30 p.m. HST.
