A Presentist Path to World Peace: Stop Terrorism? First Stop the Religious Insanity.

There are those who think that the forensic impossibilities in the Semitic and Christian religions prove that there is no God. But M. G. Person, in the book, A Presentist Path to World Peace, argues that there is an objective proof that God, as the metaphysical reality of which the physical world is a consequence, is proven.

An odd situation, hundreds of years in the making, is causing great pain and cost worldwide.  The center of this global travesty is in the Mid-East but it radiates to other territories.  Radical Muslim factions continually murder or brutalize those who don’t conform to their interpretation of Islam.  There are both religious and political motivations and It is hard to determine which govern.  But the religious ideology is a logical place to start to unravel the mess.

It would be helpful if the broader World of Islam were to forcefully condemn terrorist actions.  But it isn’t happening.  Certainly, there are Muslim leaders who comment that the radicals do not represent their views.  Occasional comments like these are no deterrent --  it would take a broad expression of revulsion.  So let’s tackle the religious justifications.

"there is an objective proof that God, as the metaphysical reality of which the physical world is a consequence, is proven."

M.G. Person, Author

Muslims believe that, in 610 AD, the Angel Gabriel appeared to Muhammad and appointed him to be God’s voice on Earth for all time.  From this forensically impossible history, over 25% of the global population believes what was written in his Koran and in the Sunna compiled by his followers.  So most of the Muslim radicals apparently believe they are carrying out God’s will.  There is no combatant who is more determined.  Now, since the Christian world encompasses more than 35% of the global population, one might think that they might offer a more reasonable approach to faith.  But it can’t happen and there is a reason why.

Christianity, as practiced today, started with the story of Jesus, a Jew who had a remarkable ministry based on a view of a loving God and the importance of kindness and forgiveness.  He was martyred in the year 32 AD.  Reports of his returning to physical life after death persisted and became a central message of Christianity.  The Christian New Testament was the result of the first Nicene council around 325 AD, almost 300 years later.  So Christianity is also based on a forensically impossible history.  It is unlikely these two groups could reason together because they have no common standard for determining reality.

This 102-page book examines these subjects in detail.  It is available through the website, presentistpath.com, or direct from Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
