Fowl Feathered Review Debut

Fowlpox Press has released its debut quarterly, which features writers, artists, and musicians from around the globe.

Fowlpox Press Editor Virgil Kay is relieved to have completed the finishing touches on the debut issue of Fowl Feathered Review. "We have some A-list writers and artists from around the world in this issue," he comments. "We even have a debut within the debut: A string quartet!"

The quarterly is a new effort from the press famous for its chapbooks from poets such as Howie Good, Neil Ellman and KJ Hannah Greenberg.

Their website provides free downloads of all of these chapbooks in PDF format, with some titles in flashbook form. The new quarterly is available in both of these forms, and in style and content is faithful to the strong graphic and editorial standards of this small but high quality press. The staff at Fowlpox is anxious to see if the quarterly will be as well received as their previous efforts.

"We'll still publish the chapbooks, however," notes Mr. Kay. Not skimpy in content or size, the issue weighs in at 58 pages. Is there more work to be done? "I'm already working on the January issue" notes Mr. Kay. "I'm just glad it's a quarterly and not a monthly! Contributors include composers Gabriela Lena Frank and Anna Silvera, conductor JoAnn Falletta, Anthony Zamora, Executive Chef at the Conrad New York, and poets Cristina del Canto and Will Stone. There is a satirical column that features letters to and from Jonathan Galassi, President and Publisher of Farrar, Straus and Giroux, and Shelley Ambrose Co-Publisher of The Walrus. These are light-hearted and plug the chicken motif of the Fowlpox publishing firm.

The debut issue is generously illustrated by photographers and artists from around the globe. Fowl Feathered Review is now available as a free download from http://fowlpox.tk/
